Baker County - Newton
The
County was organized
December 12, 1825 and named for John Baker.
Newton is the county
seat and it’s located
in the southwest area of the state.
The courthouse at Newton burned the
nights of December 17-18, 1873. All the Ordinary Court and most Superior Court
records were lost.
