Hart County - Hartwell   
                                    Created December 7, 1853 with 257 square miles taken from Elbert and Franklin Counties.                                                                  Named for Nancy Morgan Hart, the only county in Georgia named for a woman.              
                                              The courthouse was destroyed by fires in 1900 and 1967.
